Ingredients you'll need

For the tofu fries

  • 400g firm tofu
  • patted dry
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp oil.

For the garlic glaze

  • 5 cloves garlic
  • Thumb-sized piece ginger
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp agave or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • Water as needed

Let's get cookin'

  1. Cut tofu into fry shapes or tear into chunks
  2. Toss with cornstarch, salt, and oil
  3. Bake at 190°C/380°F for 15-20 minutes
  4. For sauce: fry garlic and ginger in oil until fragrant
  5. Add soy sauce, lime juice, agave, ketchup, and water as needed
  6. Stir while heating until sauce thickens
  7. Toss baked tofu with sauce and serve immediately
