Ingredients you'll need

  • 350ml water (room temperature)
  • 8g fresh yeat or 3g instant yeast
  • 500g wheat flower
  • 10g salt

Let's get cookin'

  1. Mix the water with the yeast until well combined
  2. Add wheat flour and salt, then stir until a sticky dough forms. Cover the dough and let it rest for 3 hours
  3. Slightly wet your hands and stretch and fold all 4 edges of the dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minute
  4. Repeat the stretch and fold process 4 times total (with 30-minute rests between each)
  5. Preheat the oven to 250°C
  6. Place the dough on a floured working surface and shape it into a loaf. Place the shaped loaf in an ovenproof baking dish lined with parchment paper. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid, lower the temperature to 220°C and bake for another 20 minutes
  7. Let the bread cool down completely before serving
